Privacy Policy
This policy covers Home Field Big Screen, provided by The Farmens ("we," "us"). Big Screen shows your Ring cameras and video doorbells live on your television. We collect as little as possible and never record your video.
What we access
- Ring account and devices: When you connect Big Screen through Ring's official developer platform, we receive your Ring device list, device names and online status, and live view of the cameras and doorbells you share with Big Screen. We access Ring only through Ring's authorized Partner API.
- Account basics: Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Paired televisions: For each TV you pair, a device name (for example, "Apple TV"), when it was paired and last used, and a hashed access token. Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes.
- Your choices: Which cameras appear on Big Screen.
- How you use Big Screen: Which screens and app tabs a paired TV opens, when a camera is opened full screen or a clip is played, and which pictures are opened, with the time and the kind of TV. This record is tied to your account and used only to improve Home Field. It never includes video, audio, snapshots, or camera names, no third-party analytics service receives it, and we never sell or share it.
How live video works
When you watch a camera on your TV:
- The TV creates a WebRTC connection offer and sends it to our server (app.homefield.tv) with its device token.
- Our server checks the device token, signs the offer with your Ring access token, which never leaves our server, and sends it to Ring's live-streaming (WHEP) endpoint.
- Ring answers, and our server returns Ring's answer to the TV.
- Live video and audio travel directly from Ring to your TV over an encrypted WebRTC connection (DTLS-SRTP). They never pass through Home Field servers.
Our server handles connection setup only. We never receive, record, or store live video or audio. When you close Big Screen or switch apps, the TV closes every live session so your cameras can go back to sleep. Your TV uses Google's public STUN servers to find a network path to Ring; they see the TV's network address, never your video.
What we do with your data
- Show your shared cameras live on the TVs you paired, and nowhere else.
- Keep your Ring access tokens encrypted at rest (AES-256) and use them only to start and end the live sessions you ask for.
- Store the TV list so you can see and revoke paired TVs.
What we never do
- We never record, store, or analyze live video or audio.
- No person at Home Field watches your cameras.
- We do not sell or share your personal information or Ring data for advertising or any other purpose.
- The TV never receives your Ring credentials or tokens.
Artificial intelligence
Big Screen does not use artificial intelligence or machine learning. It shows your cameras live and analyzes nothing.
If you also use other Home Field apps
Big Screen can show content from other Home Field apps you subscribe to separately. If you use Home Field Vault, clips Vault already saved can be played on your TV; they stream from your own storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, or S3-compatible storage) through our server in transit only and are never stored by Big Screen. If you use Home Field Coyote Cam, its saved sightings can be played on your TV. If you do not use those apps, Big Screen shows neither and accesses none of your cloud storage. Those apps are covered by their own policy at homefield.tv/privacy.html.
How long we keep data
Big Screen stores no video. We keep your account, device list, and paired-TV records only while your account is active. Revoking a TV removes its access immediately. When you disconnect Big Screen in the Ring app or delete your account, your Ring tokens and Big Screen records are deleted within seconds. Device status notifications from Ring are deleted automatically 30 days after we receive them. The record of how you use Big Screen is kept for 400 days and deleted with your account.
Service providers
- Ring / Amazon: your device list and live view, through Ring's official Partner API.
- Supabase: sign-in and database (encrypted tokens, device and paired-TV records). No video.
- Vercel: application hosting. No video.
- Twilio SendGrid: sending your sign-in codes.
- Google STUN servers: network address discovery for the TV's live connection. No video.
Your controls and rights
- Choose cameras: turn Big Screen on or off per camera in your dashboard, or change which cameras you share in the Ring app.
- Revoke a TV: every paired TV is listed in your dashboard under Paired TVs. Revoking one cuts off its access immediately.
- Disconnect: remove Home Field Big Screen in the Ring app under Menu → Apps.
- Delete your data: Settings → Delete my account in your dashboard, or email support@homefield.tv.
Children
Big Screen is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
