Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Home Field, provided by The Farmens ("we," "us"). They cover every Home Field app: Home Field Vault, Home Field Coyote Cam, Home Field Big Screen, Home Field Relay, Home Field Sensors, Home Field Uptime, and Home Field Gate Log. By connecting any Home Field app to your Ring account, you agree to them.
What Home Field does
Home Field Vault automatically backs up the Ring motion and doorbell clips from cameras you choose to cloud storage that you own and control: a Google Drive account, a Microsoft OneDrive account, or an S3-compatible storage bucket. You decide which cameras are backed up and can turn the service off at any time.
Home Field Coyote Cam analyzes motion snapshots from cameras you enable and identifies animals in them, and alerts you when it detects one you chose to be alerted about. Detection is automated and best-effort: alerts may occasionally be missed or mistaken, and Coyote Cam is not a substitute for supervising pets or livestock. You can disable detection per camera or disconnect at any time.
Home Field Big Screen shows live view of the Ring cameras and video doorbells you share with it on a television you pair, and can open any camera full screen with audio. Live video travels from Ring to your TV and is not recorded or stored by us. Live view depends on Ring's live-streaming service: Ring limits the length of each live session, so the picture may pause briefly while a session renews, and a camera that is offline or asleep may not start. You can choose which cameras appear, and revoke any paired TV, at any time from your dashboard.
Home Field Relay turns Ring doorbell presses, motion, and offline cameras into text messages and phone calls to the people you choose, in order, until someone acknowledges the alert. You set the rules, the escalation order, and the people Relay contacts. You may add only people who have agreed to receive alerts from you; each person must accept an invite before Relay alerts them, and can opt out at any time. Alerts depend on Ring delivering events and on phone carriers delivering texts and calls, so an alert may be delayed or missed. Relay reaches US and Canadian (+1) phone numbers only.
Home Field Uptime tells you when a Ring camera you shared has been offline longer than the wait you choose, and when it is back. It relies on Ring reporting each camera's status: a camera Ring does not report as offline cannot trigger an alert, and an alert may be delayed or missed. Uptime alerts only you.
Home Field Gate Log keeps a log of the vehicles, people, and doorbell presses Ring reports on the cameras you share, with Ring's snapshot for each, and can alert you or the people you choose when someone arrives during quiet hours. It records only what Ring reports: vehicle and person events need Smart Alerts on in the Ring app, and an arrival Ring does not report is not logged. Gate Log does not read license plates or identify people. Entries are kept for 90 days.
What you need
- A Ring account with an active Ring Protect subscription and US-based Ring cameras or video doorbells.
- For Vault: a Google Drive account, a Microsoft OneDrive account, or an S3-compatible storage bucket, with available storage.
- For Big Screen: a supported television device (Apple TV running tvOS 17 or later, or an Amazon Fire TV running Fire OS 6 or later) and a broadband internet connection.
- You must own or be authorized to use the Ring devices, televisions, and Google account you connect.
Subscriptions and billing
Home Field apps are paid subscriptions billed through the Ring Appstore, except Home Field Uptime, which is free. Pricing and any free trial are shown at sign-up. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel at any time through Ring, and your access continues until the end of the current billing period. When a subscription ends, that app stops working: Vault stops backing up, Coyote Cam stops detecting, Big Screen stops showing live view on your paired TVs, Relay, Sensors, and Gate Log stop sending alerts, and Gate Log stops logging. Clips already saved to your storage remain yours.
Your content
Your clips and live video are yours. We claim no ownership of them and do not use them for any purpose other than delivering the service you requested. Managing space in your cloud storage is your responsibility.
Vault offers an optional Clip cleanup setting, which is off by default. If you turn it on, Home Field permanently deletes clips it created in your storage according to your settings, either after the retention period you choose or, oldest first, when your storage is nearly full. On OneDrive, deleted clips go to your OneDrive recycle bin. Clip cleanup never deletes files Home Field did not create. Home Field is not responsible for clips you chose to have cleaned up.
Text message alerts
If you opt in from Settings, Home Field sends text message alerts (for example, wildlife or security detections from your cameras) and sign-in codes to the mobile number you verify. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for how your number is handled.
Acceptable use
Use Home Field only for lawful purposes and only with devices and accounts you are authorized to use. Do not attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, or misuse the service.
Availability
We work to keep Home Field running reliably, but we depend on Ring's and Google's services, which can change or have outages. The service is provided "as is," without warranties, and we cannot guarantee that every clip will be captured (for example, if a device is offline or Ring did not record an event).
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost footage arising from circumstances outside our control. Home Field is a convenience, not a guaranteed security, monitoring, or evidence-retention system. Big Screen and Relay are not substitutes for professional monitoring and do not contact emergency services.
Termination
You can stop using Home Field at any time by disconnecting it. We may suspend or end the service for violations of these terms. On disconnection we delete the data we hold about you as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms; we will update the date above and notify you of material changes.
