Home Field

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Home Field ("we," "us") builds two apps for Ring users: Home Field Vault, which automatically backs up your Ring motion and doorbell clips to a Google Drive account that you own, and Home Field Coyote Cam, which alerts you when a coyote appears on your cameras. This policy explains what we access, what we do with it, and what we never do. We collect as little as possible.

How long we keep data

We keep the minimal metadata described above only while your account is active. When you disconnect or delete your account, that metadata is deleted immediately (within seconds) and our Google Drive access is revoked. Vault never stores your video — your clips live only in your own Google Drive, for as long as you keep them there. Coyote Cam keeps the snapshot and clip of each confirmed sighting until you delete the sighting or your account; snapshots that do not contain a coyote are discarded immediately and never stored. Big Screen stores no video at all; for each television you pair we keep only a name you can see and a hashed access token, removed the moment you unpair the TV or disconnect the app. Raw event notifications from Ring are deleted automatically 30 days after we receive them.

Third parties we use (sub-processors)

We share the minimum data needed to run the service with the providers below, and with no one else. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.

Text message (SMS) alerts

Home Field can optionally send you text messages — for example, security and wildlife detection alerts from your own cameras (with a link to view the clip) and sign-in codes. Texts are sent only if you opt in by entering your mobile number in the app's Settings and confirming it with a verification code. Message frequency varies with activity on your cameras. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help; you can also turn off text alerts in Settings.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is used solely to deliver the messages described above.

Security

Access tokens are encrypted with AES-256 before storage. We follow the security and data-handling requirements of the Ring Appstore developer program.

Children

Home Field is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email. That includes changes to our AI capabilities — new detection features, meaningful changes in accuracy, or any change in how snapshots are analyzed.
